Stop Smoking programme
The stop smoking programme is a straightforward therapy. Very few people are truly addicted and the reality is that it’s purely and simply a habit. If you think about someone who is truly addicted to any type of drug then there are two patterns that differ from what a smoker experiences. Firstly the addict needs to increase the amount they take to get the same effect, moving onto harder drugs. Secondly there is not a need to take the drug as often as a smoker would smoke, simply because it’s not a habit its an addiction.
So now that we have clarified that smokers are not addicts lets look at the habit.
The programme consists of a free 30 minute consultation to establish the correct therapy and allow the therapist to collect enough information to customise the therapy.
When the client returns for the main therapy which is a 2 hour session, the client should not have smoked for as long as possible so that the craving for a cigarette is as strong as they can tolerate, they also need to bring their cigarettes and lighter to form part of the therapy. The first task is to use Thought Field Therapy to reduce the craving and anxiety straight away, once this is done the client can relax and enjoy the therapy. The next part of the 2 hour session is a talking conscious session where the therapist talks about smoking facts, such as with every inhalation they are starving the brain of oxygen and that’s how they feel relaxed, talking about how its detrimental to health and its deadly components such Cyanide which is used in Gas chambers through out the world to execute prisoners. This is to start to get the conscious mind to begin to understand the danger because who in the right mind would inhale such a deadly chemical, along with 4500 others and think of it as pleasurable experience.
The second half of the session is hypnotherapy based where the subconscious mind is accessed and the habit is treated.
The final part of the programme requires the client to listen to a new self hypnosis programme installed on the MP3 player which should be listened to as many times for as long as possible after the therapy session as possible, at least a couple of times a week for 3 months.
Once the 3 month stage is reached the client is classed as a natural non-smoker. The audio program can be listened to at any time in the future to cancel any feelings about cigarettes. If the client feels they need an actual follow-up session with the therapist then there is a free 1 hour follow-up session to restart the therapy process.
